Completed Project – Great Guild Reconstruction and Restoration, Stage II

In June this year, CLADLUX completed works on another significant project for Riga and Latvia – Stage II of the reconstruction and restoration of the Great Guild.
The Great Guild is an architectural monument of national importance. The aim of the project is to preserve and develop this important cultural heritage site while creating modern infrastructure suitable for the needs of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.
In accordance with the architects’ concept, CLADLUX was responsible for engineering and installing an aluminium louvre system in the rooftop area to screen the building’s technical equipment.
The project involved highly complex engineering, with virtually every solution requiring a custom approach specifically developed for this building.
The louvre system was designed to simultaneously:
- provide the required airflow for the technical equipment;
- protect the area from precipitation;
- prevent birds from entering the technical zone;
- create an elegant architectural solution that integrates naturally with the historic building.
A particularly challenging element was the installation of custom-designed hydraulically operated lifting doors, developed specifically for this project to provide access to the technical area while maintaining a consistent architectural appearance.
